Women’s Equality Day
31 August 2025
Women’s Equality Day is commemorated on the 26th August in the United States (US). This celebration marks the 19th Amendment, which granted women in the US the right to vote in 1920 [1]. The observance of this day also draws attention to women’s ongoing efforts towards achieving full equality [2]. This celebration is not only a reminder of what has been achieved, but also a reminder of how much still needs to be done. Today, there are more women in Leadership, but equal representation is still lacking, the pay gap persists, disrespectful behaviour at work continues, and women still do far more work than men. Despite all of this, women continued to be ambitious.
