Welcome to CIRP ISEM XXIII 2027.
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 23rd CIRP Conference on Electro-Physical, Chemical, Laser and Related Additive Manufacturing Processes (ISEM XXIII), taking place from Monday 28 June to Thursday 1 July 2027. Hosted in Cardiff, the vibrant capital city of Wales, the conference offers not only an exceptional scientific programme but also the opportunity to experience a city rich in culture, history, and natural beauty. From the iconic Cardiff Castle in the heart of the city to the picturesque waterfront of Cardiff Bay, Cardiff combines historic charm with a modern, dynamic atmosphere, providing a welcoming and inspiring setting for international delegates.
Originally founded as the International Symposium for Electro Machining (ISEM), the conference was first held in Prague, Czechoslovakia in 1960. Over more than six decades, ISEM has grown into the leading international forum for the presentation and exchange of pioneering research in electro-physical, electro-chemical, laser-based and related non-conventional manufacturing technologies.
Today, ISEM proudly operates under the auspices of CIRP (The International Academy for Production Engineering), reinforcing its standing as a premier global platform that connects academia, research institutions, and industry leaders from around the world.
On behalf of the Organising Committee, we are delighted to invite you to join us in 2027. Hosted by Cardiff University, ISEM XXIII will continue its long-standing tradition of scientific excellence while fostering collaboration, innovation, and meaningful dialogue across disciplines.
We warmly invite researchers, engineers, industrial practitioners, emerging scholars and students to contribute their latest work, share insights, and engage in stimulating discussions that will help shape the future of advanced manufacturing technologies.
We look forward to welcoming you to Cardiff for what promises to be an inspiring and memorable conference.
