{"id":23,"date":"2025-01-17T09:49:48","date_gmt":"2025-01-17T09:49:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/research-sites.cardiff.ac.uk\/spatial-design-network-analysis-sdna\/?page_id=23"},"modified":"2026-01-30T15:41:03","modified_gmt":"2026-01-30T15:41:03","slug":"support","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/research-sites.cardiff.ac.uk\/spatial-design-network-analysis-sdna\/support\/","title":{"rendered":"Support"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Questions and help<\/h2>\n<p>For help with bugs and crashes, see the Github tracker below.<\/p>\n<p>For general questions and help:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Start by searching the latest version of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sdna-plus.readthedocs.io\/en\/latest\/\">sDNA user manual<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Ask a question on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/gis.stackexchange.com\/\">gis.stackexchange.com<\/a>\u00a0and remember to tag it with\u00a0<strong>sdna<\/strong>.\u00a0 Hopefully the community will answer you, but if they don\u2019t, the sDNA team also watch for questions with that tag.<\/li>\n<li>If you don\u2019t already have an account on stackexchange, then\n<ul>\n<li>you will need to register first<\/li>\n<li>you should read their advice on <a href=\"http:\/\/gis.stackexchange.com\/help\/how-to-ask\">how to ask a good question<\/a><\/li>\n<li>as you type your question, the system auto-searches for similar questions \u2013 please read them before posting as questions have often been asked before!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Stackexchange *should* notify us of any questions, but feel free to email\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:sdna@cardiff.ac.uk\">sdna@cardiff.ac.uk\u00a0<\/a>with a link to your stackexchange question to make sure we see it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Bugs and feature requests<\/h2>\n<p>Please send bugs and feature requests to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/fiftysevendegreesofrad\/sdna_open\/issues\">sDNA tracker on Github<\/a>.\u00a0 Don\u2019t worry that this is officially for the Open Source version \u2013 at present we maintain only one tracker for both due to their similarity.<\/p>\n<p>In the case of bugs, don\u2019t forget to report:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>which version of sDNA you are using \u2013 e.g. a version number like 4.0.1 and also say whether it\u2019s sDNA Open or sDNA,<\/li>\n<li>whether you are running in ArcGIS (which version?), Rhino\/GH (which version?), QGIS (which version?) or standalone (which version of Python are you using?)<\/li>\n<li>your operating system (Windows version, also \u2013 importantly \u2013 32 or 64 bit?)<\/li>\n<li>how much memory you have<\/li>\n<li>was sDNA\u00a0<em>installed<\/em>\u00a0just for you or for all users?<\/li>\n<li>was sDNA\u00a0<em>unlocked<\/em>\u00a0just for you or for all users?<\/li>\n<li>what were you trying to do?<\/li>\n<li>what did you expect to happen?<\/li>\n<li>what happened instead?\n<ul>\n<li>if the error appears as a dialog box, can you copy and paste (ideally) or if not then get a screen grab?<\/li>\n<li>if the error appears in the output, can you copy and paste? (from the ArcGIS results window; Autocad sDNA window or Python standard output)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We make regular releases of sDNA so hopefully we\u2019ll be able to fix any trouble you have as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<h2>User manual<\/h2>\n<p>The latest sDNA manual is available <a href=\"https:\/\/sdna-plus.readthedocs.io\/en\/latest\/\">online<\/a> for further support in using the software.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Questions and help For help with bugs and crashes, see the Github tracker below.
