However, we realised that <strong>high schoo<\/strong>l could already be too <strong>late to break<\/strong> the <strong>gender stereotypes<\/strong> constructed since childhood and that <strong>men must also be included in this process<\/strong>. Therefore, we consider it<strong> necessary to<\/strong> <strong>learn from education models implemented since infancy<\/strong>, <strong>as well as others focused on attracting women already working in STEM to consolidate their positions as independent researchers in the academy.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is the main reason to link this project to the <strong>Cardiff University-funded Ignite project<\/strong>: &#8216;<strong>Reducing gender disparity in STEM from kindergarten to Professional life<\/strong>&#8216;.<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"image align-none\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/research-sites.cardiff.ac.uk\/reducing-gender-disparity-in-higher-education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/27\/2025\/06\/thumbnail_WhatsApp-Image-2025-01-19-at-1.01.58-PM.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>Ms Breyhan Shafai, Programme Manager of the International Science Partnerships Fund at the British Council Egypt, speaking at the session: Insights into the British Council&#8217;s International Educational &amp; Scientific Partnerships.
